My Mum Came To See Me

So as I'm sure you know by now - I have been feeling very homesick since being here. But, this weekend my wonderful Mother and her Best Friend came to see me and it has been a really great weekend and has really cheered me up.

They haven't been able to stay long but we managed to fill up the time with fun activities and things I haven't done before here.

So after showing them around the city and grabbing a Chinese for tea (yes I say 'tea' instead of 'dinner' - I am from Nottingham) on the first night the Saturday we spent at the Zoo which was a nice day out although quite sad seeing some of the animals in a small space.

The Zoo, which is about half an hour tram ride outside the centre of Brno is actually in a lovely location with a wide range of animals and beautiful views!

The reflections of the beautiful spring trees in the river was just so picturesque - really made me wish I could still watercolour paint!

On the Sunday we then went back on the tram and travelled to the lake which was so beautiful, and we sat and had a picnic in the sun (didn't wear sun cream so now I'm very burnt).

It was just so lovely to get out of the city centre and to just sit back and relax by the lake, listening to the birds singing and eating fruit. It was just so peaceful.

I was very sad to say goodbye to them but I know now I have 52 days left here and then I'll be back home and I'm so excited to see everyone!
